Chicago Sports Teams Guide

Wrigley Field Marque - Home of the Chicago CubsInfo & Map Locations of Chicago's Top Sports Teams
Chicago fans love their sports teams, win or lose. Our most recent celebration was the Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup Championship in 2010. Led by captain Jonathan Toews and right winger Patrick Kane, the team ended a 49 year Stanley Cup drought.

The Chicago Bulls basketball team enjoyed a long stretch of success with two separate “three-peat” championships in ’91, ’92, ’93, ’96, ’97 and ’98. The dream team, including Michael Jordon, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman and Steve Kerr, have made their mark in Chicago sports history.

Although the Chicago Bears football team made it to Super Bowl XLI in 2007, the Colts outplayed the Bears, so we’ve gone without a championship win since 1985. While we’re not looking forward to a new Super Bowl Shuffle video anytime soon, another win on the books would be exciting.

The Chicago White Sox baseball team won the World Series in 2005 when Series MVP Jermaine Dye’s RBI single led Chicago to its first championship since 1917. Then there are the Chicago Cubs, the baseball team that hasn’t won a World Series since 1908. The “goat curse” remains unbroken, though you’d never know it from the fans – no fair weather fans here!

So that’s a little update on our major Chicago sports teams. Check out the info below to learn about our other teams in the city and suburbs. See our Map of Chicago's Sports Teams.
